MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. met with officials of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) on Tuesday in Malacañang to discuss the Danish firm’s initial $3-billion investment in clean energy in the country.
Palace press officer Claire Castro, in a briefing, said CIP, one of the world’s largest dedicated renewables investment firms, made a courtesy call to President Marcos “to express its confidence in investing in the country’s renewable energy sector.”
During their meeting, Castro said, the company emphasized that it chose the Philippines because of its “strategic location and the Marcos administration’s strong commitment to transitioning toward renewable energy.
